Practicum: Interprofessional Practice for Health Disciplines

Allied health professionals looking to engage in leadership and/or supervisory roles within their discipline or field require advanced knowledge and skills in interprofessional decision making. This post graduate unit offers current health professionals the opportunity to update and enhance theoretical knowledge and interprofessional competencies aimed at enhancing current interprofessional practice and the role of the allied health professional within the interprofessional context across all health care sectors. Students will consider, explore and apply knowledge and skills related to team function and processes, working within an interprofessional team, advanced communication skills, mentoring and coaching, working across the varied models of care. Therefore, this unit aims to encourage students to develop a personalised learning plan to guide further development and application of enhanced knowledge and skills in their clinical setting; in order to enhance the quality of their interprofessional relationships within current and future practice.
