This unit forms part of ACU’s post graduate Rehabilitation program and provides experienced health professionals with an opportunity to augment current knowledge and skills in rehabilitation of adults with a range of compex Acquired Brain Injury and multisystem ageing pathologies. Key cases will be used to enhance current knowledge and understanding of pathophysiological processes influencing clinical symptomatology and functional limitations. These cases have been designed to draw out the impact of neuro-cognitive, psycho-social and cultural issues related to holistic management as well as facilitation assimulation of current and enhanced knowledge of neural recovery and motor learning processes. This unit aims to encourage students to incorporate learning into clinical reasoning processes to optimise discipline specific and collaborative holistic, person-centred management of people with aged and neurological disorders across the lifespan.
