The ability to apply anatomical knowledge is integral to effective clinical decision making and exercise prescription. Within their scope of practice, accredited Exercise Physiologists must be able to explain the relationship between human anatomy and clinical decision making and subsequent exercise prescription. This unit advances students’ knowledge and skills in surface anatomy, structural anatomy, functional anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, and radiographic anatomy, relevant to physical examination, exercise testing, clinical imaging studies, and other clinical investigations. Students will use a case-based approach in developing proficiency in the application of anatomical knowledge to clinical situations. The aim of this unit is to provide students with an advanced understanding of the applications of anatomy to clinical assessment, investigation, and decision making.
