Clinical exercise physiologists must be able to consider clinical, scientific, ethical and legislative parameters, and the broader healthcare system framework, for their practice. Clinical Experience 2 provides a capstone to student learning; building on the essential clinical competencies of student practitioners established in Clinical Experience 1. The unit of study provides students with opportunities to demonstrate evidence-based practice and professional clinical practice principles in a variety of exercise physiology practice environments. Students will interact with, learn from, and be supported by experienced allied health professionals and clinical educators aimed at broadening their scope of practice in their transition to entry-level exercise physiologists. The aim of this unit is for students to employ core principles of case management including appropriate clinical reporting in the delivery of clinical, health and wellness, work conditioning and rehabilitation services within the boundaries of the Exercise and Sports Science Australia Accredited Exercise Physiology scope of practice and the healthcare system framework, to meet minimum professional requirements to begin practice in the profession.
