10 cp Prerequisites Entry into the Bachelor of Midwifery (Honours) course Teaching Organisation 150 hours of focused learning.
This unit involves the completion of a research project leading to the preparation of an academic thesis normally of between 10,000 and 15,000 words in length or a journal article suitable for publication. The process will start with the identification of a research problem and its formulation into a defensible research proposal based on a review of the most relevant available literature. Under the guidance of an approved supervisor the student will then conduct original research and enquiry in order to provide insight into the research question. The resultant enquiry will then be reported in the form of a thesis to be submitted for independent examination following the existing University policy. Alternatively the student may, in consultation with their supervisor, elect to submit their findings in the form of a journal article.
