10 cp Prerequisites EXSC187 Growth, Motor Development and Ageing Teaching Organisation 150 hours of focused learning.
This unit is an introduction to the underlying neuromotor basis for motor control and the current theoretical explanations of motor learning. The emphasis is on those central nervous system components that are involved in voluntary coordinated movement. Practice settings, conditions and schedules are critically analysed for their effect on motor learning acquisition and retention of motor skills. Students are introduced to the use and implementations of experimental procedures based upon established scientific procedures to provide evidential practice.
