EDFD676 Leadership, Advocacy and Wellbeing for Early Years Professionals
This unit addresses understandings and skills required for advocacy and leadership in early childhood settings. Issues concerning the well-being and professional development of self and colleagues will be critically investigated. Pre-service educators will explore current professional issues from local, national and international perspectives. The micro and macro perspectives will be addressed in terms of the effects of local, national and international factors on early childhood settings. Importantly, the effects that early childhood settings and their communities can have on local, national and international bodies will also be explored, for example in involvement and advocacy in revising legislative and quality standards. Students will develop the skills that will enable them to be effective advocates for children, families and articulate leaders in the field of early years care and education.
