10 cp Prerequisites COUN106 Introduction to Counselling and Micro-Skills, COUN221 Humanistic Theories and Interventions
This unit provides students with an understanding of the theoretical principles of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Students will examine a range of different theories used in CBT and how they are applied to a variety of client problems. They will have the opportunity to learn and practice a selection of cognitive behavioural techniques and to develop systematic interventions for commonly presenting problems such as anxiety disorders and depression. Ten hours of skills-based training will be the focus of the tutorial program.
