Teaching Organisation 3 hours per week for twelve weeks or equivalent.
This unit reviews and studies the range of concepts and techniques associated with qualitative research and the quantitative methods used in the constituent discipline areas of Business and in Business Information Systems. Students will be given experience in analysing research literature in their chosen domain and will familiarise themselves with how research methods are used in different types of research in their own discipline. This will enable students to understand the research process and be able to evaluate methodologies, compare research and report on research. Workshop activities and projects will be used to help students to develop their research methods skills and it is intended that, upon successful completion of this unit, students will have a comprehensive understanding of how to conduct a research project in their respective fields in Business or Business Information Systems.
