Prerequisites BAFN200 Principles of Finance
Teaching Organisation 3 hours per week (two hours of lectures and one hour of tutorial) for twelve weeks or equivalent in intensive mode or online.
This unit is designed to introduce the basic concepts on which finance is based. In doing so, it pays special attention to management of the financial functions for firms operating in several countries and in particular the Asia-Pacific region: international capital and foreign exchange markets; Asian markets; exchange controls, imports and exports, forward exchange; balance of trade, invisible trade, capital account and balance of payments; foreign investment, exchange rate risks and their reduction; futures trading; inflation rate and interest rate differentials; international banks; Asian banks.
