Teaching Organisation 3 hours per week for twelve weeks or equivalent.
The aim of this unit is to provide an understanding of the emerging field of knowledge management. It employs a broad spectrum of techniques and instruments to improve the performance of knowledge operations and the learning capabilities that support knowledge–focussed organisations. Knowledge management focuses on knowledge as a crucial production factor and consists of activities, tools, techniques and strategies that aim at optimal use to maximise value creation and knowledge transfer. Knowledge management determines which knowledge, where, in which form and at which point of time, should be available within a knowledge–focussed organisation.
