The implementation of effective human resource development systems is a critical factor in achieving sustainable organisational outcomes. To be a skilled human resource practitioner, you will need to understand the theories, perspectives and approaches to strategic human resource development including the relationship with performance management. In this unit you will explore human resource development and performance management at both a global and local context and within an ethical framework. You will apply your knowledge of performance management and human resource development as organisational systems and as mechanisms for managing group and individual performance through needs analysis, designing development activities, delivering and evaluating performance management and development programs at an individual and organisational level. You will develop skills in the analysis, design and implementation of solutions to performance management and development problems.
The aim of this unit is to enhance your knowledge of human resource development theory and practices and to develop your understanding of the processes and skills necessary to effectively design, implement and manage effective performance management and human resource development activities and processes.
