EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
1. Admission Requirements
An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent:
New South Wales
- Prerequisites: English (Advanced or Standard) (Band 2) or English (EAL) (Band 3).
Queensland
- Prerequisites: English (4, SA)
- From 2021:
Prerequisites: English (Units 3 & 4, C)
Victoria
- Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or 25 in any other English.
Or be admitted under the Passion 4 Business Program.International applicants need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

2. Definitions
"Major": A major is 80 cp from prescribed units as outlined in the Requirements for the Completion of the Pass Degree.
3. Completion Requirements
3.1 To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 240 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
- 60 cp from Specified Business Foundation Units
- 20 cp from University Core Curriculum Units;
- 80 cp from Major Units (single major)
- 80 cp consisting of any combination of second major, minor(s) or electives (a maximum of 40cp of electives may be taken from outside the Faculty of Law and Business).
3.2 For the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cohort to qualify for the degree, a student must complete 240 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
- 60 cp from Specified Business Foundation Units
- 20 cp from University Core Curriculum Units;
- 80 cp from Major Units (single major) consisting of either
- Major in Accounting or
- Major in Management
- 40 cp from Indigenous Business Studies Minor
- 40 cp consisting of
- CPA Accreditation Minor for Major in Accounting; or
- Any combination of 40 cp at an appropriate level
4. Other Requirements
A Major consists of 80 cp. Students must complete at least one major.
For professional accreditation in Accounting, students must complete both the major and minor in Accounting.
For professional accreditation in Human Resource Management, students must complete the major in Human Resource Management.
A Minor consists of 40 cp. Students must select units from their Business School discipline or approved interdisciplinary area in other Faculties as listed in the Schedule of Unit Offerings - Minors. Students must consult with their Course Coordinator before selecting Minors in other Faculties or external to ACU. Normally a maximum of one minor external to the Faculty of Law and Business may be undertaken.
5. Progression Requirements
Students are required to complete the Business Foundation units (ACCT100/BUSN104, BUSN111, BUSN112, and BUSN113 or equivalent) in their first semester, prior to progression to level 2 units. Students who complete a minimum of 2 Foundation units may progress to level 2 units with the permission of the Course Coordinator. Students should follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator. In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator.
