Minimum duration: 4 years full-time or equivalent part-time.
EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
There are two pathways into this course and admission is subject to supervision and resource availability.
Pathway 1
The first pathway is to satisfy the entry requirements to commence the Master of Psychology (Clinical) and Doctor of Philosophy simultaneously; or to transfer from the Master of Psychology (Clinical) to the combined degree after being admitted to this Master with First Class Honours (HI) or equivalent Applicants must first contact the School of Psychology to explore potential research areas, identify a potential PhD supervisor and write a brief research proposal. Following this, they may apply to Candidature Services for admission to the PhD, and apply simultaneously online for entry into the MPsych program.

Pathway 2
The second pathway is for those students already enrolled in the Master of Psychology (Clinical) who have completed Year 1 with a Distinction average across all subjects and were admitted to the Master with Second Class Honours – Division A (HIIA) or equivalent and then wish to transfer to the combined degree.
Applicants must first contact the School of Psychology to explore potential research areas, identify a potential PhD supervisor and write a brief research proposal. Upon successful completion of the first year of studies, candidates may then apply to Candidature Services for admission to the PhD program.
To qualify for the combined degree, a student must complete the required credit points for the relevant pathway from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

The maximum duration of candidature will normally be not more than ten years part-time from the commencement of enrolment.
Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator. In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator.
