In this unit students will apply critical appraisal skills to undertake a review of the literature pertinent to their honours research project. Students are provided with the knowledge and skills needed to read and critique research articles and translate findings into implications for clinical practice. Students will learn about a range of research designs pertinent to clinical research questions in allied health and be guided in the selection of appropriate methods for the conduct of their project, including sampling, measurement and introduction to analysis. Principles of ethical conduct in research will be applied in the development of a research protocol and ethics application. During this semester, students work with their honours supervisor/s to refine and develop their research protocol.
