Executive Dean’s Welcome
On behalf of the Faculty of Law and Business it is my pleasure to welcome you to Australian Catholic University.
Graduates from the Faculty of Law and Business are unique. They have investigated the role of business as ethical and social leaders. They understand that the decisions they make will affect people and communities. And they are ready with business strategies and frameworks to tackle ethical problems. For ACU graduates, it’s business, but not as usual.
We’re a young university, but we are making our mark. ACU is ranked in the top 50 of Generation Y universities worldwide* and in the top 10 Catholic universities** - alongside Georgetown and Boston College in the US. We’ve got more than 200 partner universities on six continents and a campus in Rome, Italy.
The faculty is deeply engaged with industry, government, and the community. Our curriculum is developed and refined in conjunction with business leaders, to ensure it reflects local and international trends, changes to the commercial environment, and advances in student learning. Our industry accredited courses will take your career further – from prestigious international accreditations such as EPAS (an international program accreditation system operated by the European Foundation for Management Development. It aims to evaluate the quality of a business program that has an international perspective and, where of an appropriately high quality, to accredit it) to important industry accreditations such as CPA Australia, Institute of Public Accountants, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand through to Financial Planning Association of Australia, Australian Human Resources Institute and Australian OHS Education Accreditation Board.
In the latest Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) assessment, our research in the areas of Law and Management was rated as ‘world class’.
We are signatories of the United Nations PRME – Principles of Responsible Management Education – with a strong emphasis on governance, ethical leadership, social responsibility and sustainability embedded in our programs. We understand that many students face time constraints juggling work and family responsibilities. That’s why the faculty offers a flexible learning approach including online units as well as mixed mode offerings and varied class times to make learning more accessible.
If you’re thinking about furthering your career and don’t have an undergraduate degree, we take professional development and work-related experience into consideration.
At ACU, it’s education, but with a bigger purpose. We’re a university committed to standing up for people in need and causes that matter. If you’ve got the desire to make an impact, we’ll give you the skills to change the world.
I look forward to welcoming you to our university.
