International students need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
To be eligible to apply for admission to the Honours program, a student must have completed 160 cp from years 1 and 2 of the Bachelor of Social Work pass degree, with a grade point average of at least 5.75 on the ACU seven point scale.
4. Completion Requirements - Honours Degree
To qualify for the Honours degree, a student must complete 320 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
70 cp Foundation Units;
20 cp from University Core Curriculum Units;
120 cp from Social Work units, including 20 cp units incorporating community engagement;
50 cp from Field Education (20 cp at Honours level);
60 cp from Honours units.
The Honours program is incorporated into the final year of the Bachelor of Social Work degree.
5. Progression Requirements
Students need to normally complete a unit or units at an introductory level (100-level) in an approved sequence before undertaking advanced level units (200 or 300-level).
Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator. In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator and bound by decisions of the School Committee.
