EFTSL value of units: All 10 credit point (CP) units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
1. Admission Requirements
An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:
- Have completed either:
- A Bachelor Degree from an accredited 3-year program in a Health Discipline or equivalent to enter the Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation non-specialty pathway, or
- A Bachelor Degree from an accredited 4-year program in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology or equivalent to enter the Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation (Discipline) pathway, with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.0.
- Have a minimum of two years clinical experience in the appropriate discipline.
- Demonstrate suitability to undertake the course:
- For the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy disciplines, applicants must hold current registration with the discipline specific National Allied Health Registration Board or required Authority in Australia, or Registration Authority in country of current practice,
- For the Speech Pathology discipline, applicants must have obtained and maintain eligibility to practice and membership with Speech Pathology Australia, or Registration Authority in country of current practice.
International applicants must also meet the English Language requirements of an Academic IELTS (International English Language Testing System) overall score of 7.0 or higher, with no band score lower than 6.5
2. Requirements for Completion
To qualify for the Master of Rehabilitation (with/without specialisation), a student must complete 120 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings:
- 30 cp from Specified units;
- 70 cp from Specialisation units (for discipline/field);
OR
For Non-specialty Pathway:
50 cp from Health units; AND
20 cp from Elective units; - 20 cp from Research units.
In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator and bound by decisions of the relevant School Committee.
