EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
1. Admission Requirements
An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
International students need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12, or equivalent:
Queensland
- Prerequisites: English (4, SA)
New South Wales
- Assumed knowledge: Nil
Victoria
- Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or 25 in any other English.
2. Completion Requirements
To qualify for the degrees, a student must complete 320 cp consisting of:
- 160 cp from Theology Specified units, with a major comprising 80 cp including the Capstone Unit in either Biblical Studies or Christian Thought, and a minor in the other discipline;
- THCP104 Integrated Theological Studies A and THCP304 Integrated Theological Studies B;
- 80 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings in Philosophy to comprise a major in Philosophy, with at least 20 credit points at 300 level.
- 80 cp in Electives chosen from other units listed in:
- Philosophy or Theology Electives, or
- the Schedule of Unit Offerings for the Bachelor of Arts.
In the total of 320 cp, no more than 100 cp may be selected from 100-level units.
Students will be advised by the Course Coordinator in all aspects of progress through the course.
3. Progression within the Course
3.1 A student must complete THCP104 Integrated Theological Studies A concurrently with one or more of the units comprising the first 40 cp of the course.
3.2 Unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator, a student must have completed at least 40 cp in 100-level units before undertaking 200-level or 300-level units.
4. Exit Points
4.1 A student who has completed 40 cp in Philosophy units may exit with the Non-Award Certificate in Philosophy.
4.2 A student who has completed 40 cp in Theology units may exit with the Non-Award Certificate in Theology.
4.3 A student who has completed 80 cp in Philosophy units may exit with the Diploma in Philosophy.
4.4 A student who has completed 80 cp in Theology units may exit with the Diploma in Theology.
4.5 A student who has completed 160 cp in Philosophy units may exit with the Associate Degree in Philosophy
4.6 A student who has completed 160 cp in Theology units may exit with the Associate Degree in Theology.
