EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
1. Admission Requirements
An applicant must comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
International applicants need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent:
New South Wales
- Prerequisites: English
Queensland
- Prerequisites: English (4, SA)
Victoria
- Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 – a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or 25 in any other English.
2. Completion Requirements
To qualify for the degrees, a student must complete 320 cp consisting of:
- 120 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of;
- 40 cp from Global Studies Core Units
- 40 cp from the International Study/Internship unit(s);
- 40 cp from Global Studies Electives2;
- 180 cp selected in accordance with the requirements for the Bachelor of Commerce, consisting of:
- 60 cp from Core Units;
- 80 cp from one Major3; in Accounting, Human Resource Management or Marketing; and
- 40 cp from one Minor; OR
40 cp Electives from the Schedule of Unit Offerings in School of Business, or units from other disciplines (subject to campus availability, unit limitation and provided that prerequisite requirements are met.)
- 20 cp from the University Core Curriculum Units

Note: Business Studies units in Sydney may be offered at either the Strathfield campus or the North Sydney campus.
The major should normally include no more than 20 cp at 100 level and must include at least 20 cp at 300 level.
A Business Studies major may be made up of units from Accounting, Finance, Marketing or HR Management. Particular combinations of units may be required for students in different states who wish to become teachers. Students are advised to consult their course coordinator for advice. With permission from the course coordinator, and subject to availability, students may include ECON units in their Business Studies major to meet initial teacher education requirements.
