1. Admission Requirements
Prior to 1 March 2016, an applicant must also comply with the Admission Rules.
From 1 March 2016, an applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:
- Hold the following qualifications with a minimum grade point average (GPA of 4.0)
- For Physiotherapy disciplines, applicants must hold a Bachelor Degree from an accredited 4-year program in Physiotherapy, Graduate Entry Master of Physiotherapy, Doctor of Physiotherapy, or approved equivalent
- For the Occupational Therapy discipline, applicants must hold a Bachelor Degree from an accredited 4-year program in Occupational Therapy, Graduate Entry Master of Occupational Therapy, or approved equivalent
- For the Speech Pathology discipline, applicants must hold a Bachelor Degree from an accredited 4-year program in Speech Pathology, Graduate Entry Master of Speech Pathology, or approved equivalent
- For the non-specialty pathway, applicants must hold a Bachelor Degree from and accredited 3-year program, Graduate Entry Masters or Doctor (Extended Masters) in an approved discipline, or approved equivalent
- Have a minimum of two years clinical experience in the appropriate discipline.
- Demonstrate suitability to undertake the course:
- For the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy disciplines, applicants must hold current registration with the discipline specific National Allied Health Registration Board or required Authority in Australia, or Registration Authority in country of current practice,
- For the Speech Pathology discipline, applicants must have Qualified as a Speech Pathologist from a Speech Pathology Australia accredited programme or obtained and maintain eligibility to practice and membership with a Registration Authority in country of current practice,
- For the Rehabilitation non-specialty pathway, applicants must either
- Hold current registrationwith the discipline specific National Allied Health Registration Board or required Authority in Australia, or Registration Authority in country of current practice. OR
- Have obtained and maintain eligibility to practice and membership with Australian Registration Authority, or Registration Authority in country of current practice,
International applicants must also meet the English Language requirements of an Academic IELTS (International English Language Testing System) overall score of 7.0 or higher, with no band score lower than 6.5
Requirements for Completion
To qualify for the Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation, a student must complete 80 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings:
- 30 cp from Core Units;
- 30 cp from Specialisation Units (for discipline/field stream)
OR
For non-specialty pathway
20 cp from Health Units AND
10 cp from Elective Units; - 20 cp from Research Units.
In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator and bound by decisions of the relevant School Committee.
