1. Policy Statement
This policy provides the framework for a student appeal to an independent arbiter, external to the University, for a of review of final decisions under the Policy on Student Appeals or Policy on Student Complaints Management, where students have exhausted all internal avenues of review or appeal and no external avenue exists.

2. Policy Scope
2.1 This policy applies to situations where a student has exhausted all internal avenues of review or appeal under the Policy on Student Appeals and the Policy on Student Complaint Management.
2.2 This policy also applies to situations where there is no external avenue of appeal, or complaint mechanism available to the student as legislated in the relevant State or Territory.

3. General Provisions
3.1 Unless the Vice-Chancellor otherwise directs, a student who has lodged a request for review against the decision of an appeal or complaint with the University Visitor under this policy may continue in their program of study until the decision of the Visitor is notified to the student.
3.2 The Visitor is the final avenue of review in respect of such appeals and complaints. However, nothing in this policy removes the right of a student to access any other appeal/complaint mechanism or legal right available to them as legislated in the relevant State or Territory.
3.3 There is no fee to lodge a request for review of an appeal or complaint with the Visitor.
