1. Admission Requirements
An applicant must also comply with the Admission Rules.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent:

Victoria
Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 – a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English.
International applicants need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission Rules.
“Major”: 60 cp in prescribed units in one discipline, including at least 10 cp at introductory level and at least 20 cp at 300 level.
“Minor”: 40 cp in prescribed units in one discipline, including at least 10 cp at introductory level and at least 20 cp at advanced level.
3. Requirements for Completion of the Pass Degree
To qualify for the Bachelor of Theology, a student must complete:
- 240 cp consisting of:
- at least 160 cp from Foundation units, including:
- from the core disciplines of Biblical Studies and Christian Thought:
- 60 cp from a Major in one of those disciplines; and
- 40 cp from a Minor in the alternative discipline;
- 10 cp from a Philosophy unit listed in the Schedule of Unit Offerings;
- 20 cp from University Core Curriculum units listed in the Schedule of Unit Offerings;
- 30 cp from other Foundation units;
- from the core disciplines of Biblical Studies and Christian Thought:
- up to 80 cp from other units in the Schedule of Unit Offerings or from units available in any other course and approved by both Course Coordinators;
- a maximum of 100 cp from 100-level units;
- at least 160 cp from Foundation units, including:
- THCP104 Integrated Theological Studies A and THCP304 Integrated Theological Studies B.
4. Requirements for Completion of the Diploma
A student who has satisfied the following requirements may exit with the Diploma in Theology:
- 80 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings consisting of:
- 40 cp from the following Foundation units:
THBS100 Introduction to the Bible
THCP105 Prayer and Liturgy
THCT100 What Christians Believe
THCT103 Christianity Established: From Sect to Society - 10 cp from 100-level Philosophy units;
- 10 cp from UNCC100 Our World: Community and Vulnerability;
- 20 cp from electives;
- 40 cp from the following Foundation units:
- THCP 104 Integrated Theological Studies A.
5. Progression within the Course
5.1 In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator.
5.2 A student must complete THCP104 Integrated Theological Studies A concurrently with one or more of the units comprising the first 40 cp of the course.
5.3 Unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator, a student must have completed at least 40 cp in 100-level units before undertaking 200-level or 300-level units.
6. Exit Points
A student who has completed the requirements prescribed for the Diploma in Theology or the Certificate in Theology may exit from the course with the relevant qualification.
