2. Completion Requirements
To qualify for the pass degree, a student must complete 320 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
- 70 cp Foundation Units;
- 20 cp from University Core Units;
- 150 cp from Social Work units, including 20 cp units incorporating community engagement;
- 50 cp from field education;
- 30 cp from electives.
3. Admission Requirements for Honours
To be eligible to apply for admission to the Honours program, a student must have completed 160 cp from years 1 and 2 of the Bachelor of Social Work pass degree, with a grade point average of at least 5.5.
International students need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admissions Rules.
4. Requirements for Completion Honours
To qualify for the Honours degree, a student must complete 320 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
- 70 cp Foundation Units;
- 20 cp from University Core Units;
- 120 cp from Social Work units, including 20 cp units incorporating community engagement;
- 50 cp from field education (20 cp at Honours level);
- 60 cp from Honours units.
The Honours program is incorporated into the final year of the Bachelor of Social Work degree.
5. Progression within the Course
Students need to normally complete a unit or units at an introductory level (100-level) in an approved sequence before undertaking advanced level units (200 or 300-level).
In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator and bound by decisions of the School Committee.
