* Students will normally be located at the Strathfield Campus, however, some units are undertaken at the North Sydney Campus. Students will not be required to travel between campuses on the same day.
EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
1. Admission Requirements
An applicant must also comply with the Admission Rules.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent.
New South Wales
Recommended studies: English advanced, personal development, health and physical education (PDHPE), mathematics plus one of biology, chemistry or physics.
Queensland
Recommended studies: English, plus one of health, physical education, mathematics biology, physics, chemistry or science 21.
Victoria
Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 – a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English, and a study score of at least 25 in one of mathematics (any), biology, chemistry, outdoor and environmental studies, psychology, physical education, health or physics.
Completion Requirements
To qualify for the Bachelor of Exercise Science/Bachelor of Public Health degree, a student must complete:
- 170 cp from Exercise Science units, consisting of:
- 80cp from Core Exercise Science units;
- 90cp from Elective units (which will normally include at least 60 cp from a specialisation sequence);
- 130 cp from Core Public Health Units;
- 20 cp from University Core Units.
3. Progression within the Course
Students normally complete 100-level units before undertaking related 200-level units, and 200-level units before undertaking related 300-level units.
In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator and bound by decisions of the School Committee.
