EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
1. Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the course, applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree from a recognised university which includes a minimum of 8 units (2 full-semesters) of study in the social sciences. These units may include psychology, sociology, anthropology, policy studies, history, law, health and disability, technology, philosophy, indigenous studies, culture and human diversity, media study, gender studies, social theory and population studies. Applicants must also submit with their application:
- a 500 word piece which states the applicant’s motivation to undertake studies in social work, e.g., “What experiences have inspired you to study social work?”
- their curriculum vitae.
International students must have completed the above prerequisites AND demonstrate an overall academic IELTS of 7.0 or above (with an individual score of 7.0 or above in writing, speaking, listening and reading).
Applicants must also comply with the Admission Rules.
2. Completion Requirements
To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 160 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings.
