1. Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must:
Have completed either:
a Bachelor Degree from an accredited 3-year program in a Health Discipline or equivalent to enter the Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation non-specialty pathway; OR
a Bachelor Degree from an accredited 4-year program in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology or equivalent to enter the Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation (Discipline) pathway, with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.0;
Have a minimum of two years clinical experience in the appropriate discipline.
Demonstrate suitability to undertake the course:
For the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy disciplines, applicants must hold current registration with the discipline specific National Allied Health Registration Board or required Authority in Australia, or Registration Authority in country of current practice;
For the Speech Pathology discipline, applicants must have obtained and maintain eligibility to practice and membership with Speech Pathology Australia, or Registration Authority in country of current practice,
Applicants must comply with the Admission Rules.
International applicants must also meet the English Language requirements as defined in the Admission Rules.
Requirements for Completion
To qualify for the Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation, a student must complete 40cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings consisting of:
Chronic Disease and Disability in Community Contexts (Pre: HLSC602 Advanced Decision Making OR PHTY600/OTHY600/SPHY600 Advanced Clinical Reasoning for (Discipline) in Aged and Neurological Rehabilitation)
Practicum: Inter-professional Practice for Health Disciplines (Pre: HLSC602 Advanced Decision Making) (Inc: PHTY601/OTHY601/SPHY601 Practicum 1: Optimising (Discipline) Practice within Inter-professional Contexts)
