1. Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have successfully completed a Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) equivalent to an Australian Catholic University GPA of 4.0.
An applicant must also comply with the Admission Rules.
2. Requirements for Completion of the Degree1
2.1 To qualify for the degree, a student must complete:
- 170 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings including
- Professional Experience Units and professional experience days to meet national ACECQA approved accreditation requirements for early childhood teacher qualification [Birth-5] - (not leading to teacher registration under the National Quality Framework)

1 Requirements for working with children: All students enrolled must have the appropriate approvals before they may enter a classroom or early learning centre. These are: Blue Card (Qld), Working with Vulnerable People (ACT) or Working with Children Check (NSW and Vic). International students must bring police check documentation from their own countries. Australian students who have lived in another country for 12 months or more must provide a police check from that country for that period.
2 Includes a Professional Experience Program.
3 Includes a compulsory Professional Experience Program (PEP 4). Placements for students in this course will be in the Birth to Five learning environment.
4 Note in addition to the two Professional Experience Program (PEP) units 1 and 2A, students will complete a second and fourth PEP in: EDFX662 Arts and Technology in the Early Years Including Graduate Professional Experience 2 (Three to Five Years) and EDFX664 Research as Reflective Practice for Early Years Professional Including Graduate Professional Experience 4 (Birth to Five).
