1. Admission Requirements
An applicant must also comply with the Admission Rules.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:
- Bachelor Degree in any discipline; or
- Postgraduate award of at least four units; or
- Relevant professional managerial experience of at least two years full-time or equivalent part-time.
International applicants need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admissions Rules.
2. Completion Requirements
2.1 To qualify for the degree and attain a nominated Major, a student must complete 240 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
2.2 90 cp from the Business Administration Core Units;
- 150 cp from the Accounting Major consisting of one of either;
- Professional Stream, including;
- 70 cp from Professional Stream Major Core Units;
- 80 cp of Elective Units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings of any FLB postgraduate award;
or
- Research Stream, including:
- 70 cp from Research Stream Major Core Units
- 40 cp from Research Stream Research Units
- 40cp of Elective Units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings of any FLB postgraduate award
- Professional Stream, including;
- 150 cp from the Business Information Systems Major consisting of one of either;
- Professional Stream, including;
- 80 cp from Professional Stream Major Core Units;
- 70 cp from Elective including any unit in the Schedule of Unit Offerings of any FLB postgraduate award;
or
- Research Stream, including:
- 50 cp from Research Stream Major Core Units
- 40 cp from Research Stream Research Units
- 60cp from Elective including any unit in the Schedule of Unit Offerings of any FLB postgraduate award
- Professional Stream, including;
- 150 cp from the Human Resource Management Major consisting of one of either;
- Professional Stream, including;
- 70 cp from Professional Stream Major Core Units;
- 80 cp of Elective Units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings of any FLB postgraduate award;
or
- Research Stream, including:
- 60 cp from Research Stream Major Core Units
- 40 cp from Research Stream Research Units
- 50cp of Elective Units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings of any FLB postgraduate award
- Professional Stream, including;
- 150 cp from the Marketing Major consisting of one of either;
- Professional Stream, including;
- 70 cp from Professional Stream Major Core Units;
- 80 cp of Elective Units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings of any FLB postgraduate award;
or
- Research Stream, including:
- 50 cp from Research Stream Major Core Units
- 40 cp from Research Stream Research Units
- 60cp of Elective Units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings of any FLB postgraduate award

2.3 An applicant may be granted advanced standing towards the Master of Commerce/Master of Business Administration under the following conditions:
- Applicants who have completed a Bachelor Degree in the same discipline area as their intended Master of Commerce/Master of Business Administration Major, may be granted advanced standing for up to four (4) units of the Master of Commerce component in the dual degree.
- Applicants who have completed a Bachelor Degree and postgraduate award in the same discipline area as their intended Master of Commerce/Master of Business Administration Major, may be granted advanced standing for up to eight (8) units of the Master of Commerce component in the dual degree.
- Applicants who have completed the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration or Graduate Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent may be granted advanced standing.
A student who has completed the requirements prescribed for the Graduate Certificate in Commerce or Graduate Diploma in Commerce may exit from the course with the relevant award.
