EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
1. Admission Requirements
An applicant must also comply with the Admission Rules.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:
-
- a Bachelor degree with honours in accredited psychology course with minimum of IIA honours; or
- a Bachelor degree with accredited four year major study in psychology; or
-
- a Bachelor degree with accredited three year major study in psychology and satisfactory completion of an additional year of accredited study in psychology, or equivalent, with an overall mark equivalent to IIA Honours; or
- qualifications and experience assessed as equivalent by the selection committee; and
- demonstrated suitability to undertake the course as evidenced by satisfactory:
- academic referee report;
- professional referee report; and
- for short-listed candidates, interview with the selection committee; and
- be eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia as a conditional/provisional psychologist.
2. Completion Requirements
To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 160 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
- 50 cp from Core Units;
- 40 cp from Practicum Units;
- 40 cp from Thesis Units; and
- 30 cp from Specialisation Units appropriate to the relevant stream.
3. Maximum Period of Candidature
The maximum duration of candidature will be not more than five years part-time from the commencement of enrolment.
