Assessment practices are designed to contribute to high quality student learning and underpin the development, delivery and quality assurance of units and courses and are based on the following principles. Assessment should -
- be a transparent process carried out with honesty, integrity and confidentiality in line with the Mission of the University;
- encourage, reinforce and be integral to learning and teaching;
- measure student achievement at an appropriate standard;
- be fair, inclusive and equitable for all students;
- be developmental and responsive; and
- entail reasonable workloads for staff and students.
