Associate Degree in Inclusive Education and Disability Studies

Minimum duration: 2 years full-time or equivalent part-time.

Course available at: Sydney (Strathfield), NSW EFTSL value of units: All units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

1. Admission Requirements

An applicant must also comply with the Admission Rules.

  1. Completion of Higher School Certificate
    or
  2. Appropriate experience working in community-based organisations which provide a service to people with a disability

2. Requirements for Completion of the Associate Degree 1 2

To qualify for the Associate Degree, a student must complete 160 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

  1. 130 cp from Discipline Studies;
  2. 20 cp from Professional Practice Specialisations;
  3. 10 cp from University Core Unit.

1Requirements for working with vulnerable people: All students enrolled must have the appropriate approvals before they may enter a workplace.
2Requirements for working with children: All students enrolled must have the appropriate approvals before they may enter a classroom. These are: Blue Card (Qld), Working with Vulnerable People (ACT) or Working with Children Check (NSW and Vic). International students must bring police check documentation from their own countries. Australian students who have lived in another country for 12 months or more must provide a police check from that country for that period.
