EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
1. Admission Requirements1
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must:
- have completed year 12 including Units 3 and 4, with a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English and a study score of at least 25 in one of mathematics (any), accounting, biology, environmental studies, psychology, physical education, history (any), science or equivalent; and
- hold a current Level 2 coaching accreditation, or equivalent, under the auspices of the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme and approved by a national sporting organisation; and
- be working with elite athletes who compete at the state, national and/or international high performance level.
2. Requirements for Completion of the Degree
To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 240 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
- 80 cp from a Major in Management;
- 110 cp from a Major in Performance;
- 30 cp from Industry Practicum Units;
- 20 cp from Electives.
3. Progression within the Course
Students normally complete 100-level units before undertaking related 200-level units, and 200-level units before undertaking 300-level units. In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator and bound by decisions of the School Committee.
4. Exit Points
4.1 The Associate Degree in High Performance (Sport and Business) and Diploma in High Performance (Sport and Business) are offered only as exit points from the Bachelor of High Performance (Sport and Business).
4.2 A student who has completed the following requirements may exit from the course with the Diploma in High Performance (Sport and Business):
- 30 cp from the following Management Units:
BUSN100 10 Reasoning and Communication;
EXSC101 10 Ethical Leadership in Sport;
EXSC268 10 Financial Management of Sport and Exercise;
- 40 cp from the following Performance Units:
EXSC102 10 Planning an Annual Program;
EXSC103 10 Talent Optimisation and Skill Learning;
EXSC198 10 Health, Fitness and Performance;
EXSC199 10 Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity;
- 10 cp from EXSC104 Industry Practicum 1.
4.3 A student who has completed the following requirements may exit from the course with the Associate Degree in High Performance (Sport and Business):
- 60 cp from the following Management Units:
