A student who has completed the requirements prescribed for the Associate Degree in Inclusive Education and Disability Studies may exit with that award.
EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
1. Admission Requirements1
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:
Assumed knowledge: Completion of Higher School Certificate.
Additional selection criteria: Applicants with experience working in community-based organisations which provide a service to people with a disability are also encouraged to apply.
2. Requirements for Completion of the Degree2
2.1 To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 240 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
- 160 cp from Discipline Studies;
- 60 cp from one of the Professional Practice Specialisations;
- 20 cp from the University Core Units3
2.2 A student who has completed the Associate Degree in Inclusive Education and Disability Studies (previously named the Diploma in Education (Habilitation)) may be granted advanced standing.
3. Exit Point
A student who has completed the requirements prescribed for the Associate Degree in Inclusive Education and Disability Studies may exit with that award.

2Requirements for working with children: All students enrolled must have the appropriate approvals before they may enter a classroom. These are: Blue Card (Qld) or Working with Children Check (ACT, NSW and Vic). International students must bring police check documentation from their own countries.
3Students who have a conscientious objection to enrolling into all or part of the University Core Units may seek an exemption on a case by case basis.
