EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

1. Admission Requirements1

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent:

Assumed knowledge: Nil

Queensland
Prerequisites: English (4, SA)

Victoria
Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 – a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English.

2. Definitions

“Major”: 60 cp in prescribed units in one discipline, including at least 10 cp at introductory level and at least 40 cp at advanced level.

“Minor”: 40 cp in prescribed units in one discipline, including at least 10 cp at introductory level and at least 20 cp at advanced level.

A Major or Minor in Christian Practice must include THCP100 The Signs of the Times as a core unit.

3. Requirements for Completion of the Degree

To qualify for the Pass degree, a student must complete 240 cp consisting of:

  1. at least 160 cp from theology units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings2 and/or philosophy units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings for the Bachelor of Arts, including 60 cp from a Major in one of the disciplines of Biblical Studies, Christian Thought or Christian Practice;

    and
      1. for a student who completes a Major in Biblical Studies:
        1. 40 cp from a Minor in Christian Thought; and
        2. 40 cp from a Minor in Christian Practice, Philosophy, Study of Religions or any other discipline approved by the Course Coordinator;
          or
      2. for a student who completes a Major in Christian Thought:
        1. 40 cp from a Minor in Biblical Studies; and
        2. 40 cp from a Minor in Christian Practice, Philosophy, Study of Religions or any other discipline approved by the Course Coordinator;
          or
      3. for a student who completes a Major in Christian Practice:
        1. 40 cp from a Minor in Biblical Studies; and
        2. 40 cp from a Minor in Christian Thought;
      1. for a student who, in addition to the Major, has completed two Minors from Biblical Studies, Christian Thought, Christian Practice, Philosophy or Study or Religions:
        1. 20 cp from other theology and/or philosophy units:
          or
      2. for a student who, in addition to the Major, has completed one Minor from Biblical Studies, Christian Thought, Christian Practice, Philosophy or Study of Religions and one Minor in any other discipline:
        1. 60 cp from other theology and/or philosophy units;
  2. up to 80 cp from other units in the Schedule of Unit Offerings or from units available in any other course for which the student is eligible to enrol;
  3. a maximum of 100 cp from 100-level units.
