EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

1. Admission Requirements¹

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:

Entry Point 1 (120 cp – Three semesters) – (Brisbane and Melbourne only)

1. Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent²; and
2. eligibility for nurse registration in Australia.

Entry Point 2 (80 cp – Two semesters) – (Ballarat, Brisbane and Melbourne)

1. practising midwives with a Bachelor degree or equivalent³; and
2. eligibility for midwifery registration in Australia.

Entry Point 3 (40 cp – One semester) – (Ballarat, Brisbane and Melbourne)

1. Graduate Diploma in Midwifery or equivalent⁴; and
2. eligibility for midwifery registration in Australia.

2. Requirements for Completion of the Degree

To qualify for the degree, a student must complete the following requirements, undertaking units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings:

1. Entry Point 1⁵
   120 cp, consisting of:
   1. 110 cp from Core Units A and C; and
   2. 10 cp from Master’s level Electives approved by the Course Coordinator.
2. Entry Point 2⁵
   80 cp, consisting of:
   1. 60 cp from Core Units B and C; and
   2. 20 cp from Master’s level Electives approved by the Course Coordinator.
3. Entry Point 3⁵
   40 cp, consisting of:
   1. 30 cp from Core Units C; and
   2. 10 cp from Master’s level Electives approved by the Course Coordinator.

3. Exit Point

A student who has completed the requirements prescribed for the Graduate Diploma in Midwifery may exit with that award.
