Bachelor of Education (Primary) (Fourth Year Upgrade)

EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

1. Admission Requirements1

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed a pre-service course of teacher education of at least two years’ duration and have demonstrated teaching experience.

2. Requirements for Completion of the Degree

To qualify for the degree, a student must complete the following:

(1) For students who have completed a three-year pre-service course of teacher education, upgrading to the Bachelor of Education (Primary)

80 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

  1. 10 cp from Core Units;
  2. 70 cp from Part A or Part B of Schedule of Unit Offerings.

(2) For students who have completed a two-year pre-service course of teacher education

120 cp from Part A or Part B of the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

  1. 20 cp from Core Units;
  2. 100 cp from Electives, normally including 20 cp from Education Studies Units.
