Minimum duration: 1.5 years full-time or equivalent part-time.

EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

1. Admission Requirements1

1.1 To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following:

  1. a Bachelor degree with a major in a computing/information technology discipline; or
  2. a Bachelor degree in any discipline and a Graduate Certificate in Information Technology or Graduate Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent.

1.2 A student who has completed the Graduate Certificate in Information Technology or Graduate Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent may be granted advanced standing.

2. Requirements for Completion of the Degree

To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 120 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

  1. 60 cp from Core units;
  2. 40 cp from IS Electives; and
  3. 20 cp from Electives.

3. Exit Point

A student who has completed the requirements prescribed for the Graduate Diploma in Information Technology or Graduate Certificate in Information Technology may exit from the course with the relevant award.

4. Progression within the Course

In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator and bound by decisions of the Faculty Learning and Teaching Committee.

Electives may be taken from other postgraduate courses (subject to campus availability and unit limitations and provided that prerequisite and co-requisite requirements are met), with the approval of the Course Coordinator.
