EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

1. Admission Requirements1

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12, or equivalent:

New South Wales
Prerequisites: Nil.

Victoria
Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English, and a study score of at least 25 in one of art, studio arts, or visual communication and design.

2. Requirements for Completion of the Pass Degree

To qualify for the pass degree, a student must complete:

  1. 240 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
    1. 40 cp from 2D Studies2;
    2. 40 cp from 3D/4D Object Design2;
    3. 40 cp from Graphic Design2;
    4. 40 cp from Art and Design History and Theory;
    5. 20 cp from Professional Development and Practice;
    6. 40 cp from Self-directed Studies;
    7. 20 cp from Mission-focused Units;

      and

  2. required Volunteer Experience.3

3. Exit Point

3.1 The Associate Degree in Visual Arts and Design is offered as an exit point from the Bachelor degree only.

3.2 A student who has completed the following requirements may exit from the course with the Associate Degree in Visual Arts and Design:

  1. 160 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings4, consisting of:
    1. 40 cp from 2D Studies Units;
    2. 40 cp from 3D/4D Object Design Units;
    3. 40 cp from Graphic Design Units;
    4. 40 cp from Art and Design History and Theory Units;

      and      
             
  2. required Volunteer Experience.
