Bachelor of Music (Honours)

Minimum duration: 1 year full-time or equivalent part-time.

EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

1. Admission Requirements – Honours Degree1

To be eligible to apply for admission to the Honours degree course, a student must have:

  1. completed the requirements for a Bachelor of Music Pass degree , usually within the last five years;
  2. gained a grade point average of at least 5.00 in the units of the Pass degree; and
  3. satisfied the prerequisites for the units to be undertaken in the Honours course.

2. Requirements for Completion of the Honours Degree

To qualify for the Honours degree a student must, in addition to satisfying the requirements of the Pass degree, complete 80 cp from the Schedule of Honours units, consisting of units approved by the Head of School selected as follows:

  1. 10 cp from Research Methods;
  2. 10 cp from Musicology
  3. 50 cp from Thesis Units; and
  4. 10 cp from Honours Electives.
