EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

1. Admission Requirements¹

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:

1.  
   1. completion of 80 cp of the Master of Psychology, with a GPA of 6 and no result lower than Credit;
   2. a Research Supervisors report which indicates the capacity of the applicant to undertake the Doctorate; and
   3. for short-listed candidates, interview with the selection committee;
      
      or
      
      
2.  
   1. completion of the Master of Psychology within the past ten years, with a GPA of 6 and no result lower than Credit;
   2. capacity for research as demonstrated by the grade obtained for the Masters thesis, examiners reports on same, or publication record since obtaining the Master of Psychology;
   3. if the Masters degree was completed more than two years prior to making application, completion of professional development suitable for attracting relevant APS College professional development points;
   4. for short-listed candidates, interview with the selection committee.

Referee reports may be called for from academic and/or personal/professional referees.

2. Requirements for Completion of the Degree

To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 240 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

1. 50 cp from Core Units;
2. 60 cp from Practicum Units;
3. 80 cp from Thesis Units; and
4. 50 cp from Specialisation Units appropriate to the relevant stream.

3. Maximum Period of Candidature

The maximum duration of candidature will be not more than 7 years part-time from the commencement of enrolment. The maximum period will not include any period of approved leave of absence.
