APIS205 Community Experience

Prerequisites Nil
Teaching Organisation 12 week semester or equivalent in intensive block mode. This unit is equivalent to 150 hours of focused learning. Formal study and seminars of not more than 24 hours class time plus Community Activity and associated analysis to the equivalent of 100 hours.
Students, after appropriate consultation, choose to involve themselves through this unit in a particular area of activity or concern (eg Indigenous, groups/ communities/ institutions involved in social justice, the arts, care for youth, the elderly, the suffering or disadvantaged). Such an involvement is to be both practical and reflective. The practical experience is balanced through study and reflection on appropriate critical insights.
