EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

1. Admission Requirements1

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12, or equivalent:

Assumed knowledge: ACT – English advanced and at least a major in mathematical applications with grades of C or higher; NSW – two units of English Band 4 and two units of Mathematics Band 4 or appropriate VET Certificate III or IV.

2. Requirements for completion of the degree2

To qualify for the degree, a student must complete:

  1. 240 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
    1. 90 cp from Education Studies ;
    2. 60 cp from Curriculum Foundation Studies;
    3. 60 cp from Curriculum and Pedagogy;
    4. 30 cp from Electives;

and

  1. Prescribed Professional Experience units.

2 Requirements for working with children: All students enrolled must have the appropriate approvals before they may enter a classroom. These are: Blue Card (Queensland), Working with Children Background Check (ACT, Victoria, NSW). International students should check this with the Course Coordinator and may need to bring documentation from their own countries.

3 Students not seeking Religious Education Accreditation may take one of the following units or another Education unit approved by the Course Coordinator:
