Bachelor of Youth Work

Minimum duration: 3 years full-time or equivalent part-time.

EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

1. Admission Requirements1

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12, or equivalent:

Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 – a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English.

2. Definitions

“Major”: 80 cp in prescribed units in one discipline or approved interdisciplinary area, normally including at least 10 cp at introductory level and at least 60 cp at advanced level.

3. Requirements for Completion of the Degree

To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 240 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

  1. 80 cp from a Major in Youth Work including all Core Units;
  2. 80 cp from a Major in Sociology including all Core Units;
  3. 10 cp from HIST106 Australian Indigenous Peoples: Past and Present;
  4. 10 cp from a Mission-focused Unit;
  5. 30 cp from Electives;
  6. 30 cp from Practicum Units.
