EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
1. Admission Requirements1
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:
- Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or equivalent; or appropriate VET Certificate III or IV; and
- access to a workplace relevant to field of study.
2. Requirements for Completion of the Associate Degree
To qualify for the Associate Degree, a student must complete:
- 160 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
- 30 cp from Core Units;
- 130 cp from Electives, including at least 120 cp from Advanced Units;
and
- 4 Practical Units.
3. Exit Point
3.1 A student who has completed the following requirements may exit from the course with the Diploma in Social Science (Residential Care):
- 80 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
- 30 cp from Core Units;
- 50 cp from Electives, including at least 40 cp from Advanced Units;
and
- 2 Practical Units.
3.2 A maximum of 40 cp may be granted as credit towards the Diploma.
3.3 Credit for 80 cp and 2 practical units completed in the Diploma will be granted towards the Associate Degree in Social Science (Residential Care).
