ACU National Equity Bursary Program
Australian Catholic University (ACU National) is committed to improving the retention of students who are Indigenous Australians, students from low socio-economic backgrounds and/or rural and isolated areas, students with disabilities and students from non-English speaking backgrounds. The ACU National Equity Bursary Program has been established to assist Australian undergraduate students and holders of permanent humanitarian visas who can demonstrate socio-economic disadvantage to complete their studies.
Australian students who are enrolled in a full-time postgraduate diploma at ACU National in a Commonwealth supported place may also apply, provided they are eligible in all other respects.
Seventeen bursaries are available in 2008.

Cabrini Health Scholarships (IES)Established by the Cabrinian Apostolic Planning Committee to assist students in financial need. The scholarship is open to students of nursing or midwifery at the University’s Melbourne campus.

Dominican Sisters of Eastern Australia and the Solomon Islands Equity Bursary (IES)
Established by the Dominican Sisters of Eastern Australia and the Solomon Islands.
The bursary is open to Australian undergraduate students and holders of permanent humanitarian visas who can demonstrate socio-economic disadvantage to complete their studies.
Preference will be given to a student enrolled in an education course at the Strathfield campus.

Dooleys Lidcombe Catholic Club Bursary (IES)
Donated by Dooleys Lidcombe Catholic Club Ltd, the bursary is given to encourage students in genuine need to achieve academic excellence in their undergraduate program at the Strathfield or North Sydney campuses.
Value: Up to $6,000 to be allocated

John F Slowey Memorial Bursary (IES)
Established by the Australian Catholic University Foundation to commemorate the life of Monsignor John F Slowey whose leadership and vision contributed to the survival and development of Catholic Education in New South Wales. Given to undergraduate students of the North Sydney campus on the basis of genuine need.
Value: Up to $2,000

George Alexander Foundation Bursaries (IES)
Established through the support of the George Alexander Foundation for students undertaking rural placements while studying at Ballarat Campus. George Alexander, founder of the Foundation, had a special interest in the areas of Education and Environment and Conservation and these bursaries reflect his interest in helping talented young people, particularly those from rural and regional communities, who have demonstrated academic ability, to overcome financial disadvantage and achieve their educational goals.

Elizabeth Hunt Bursaries (IES)
Established by Catholic Education Office, Sale Diocese, and ACU National to pay the Student Services Fees for two students for each year of the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Teaching, Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Education course. The bursaries will be awarded based on merit.
