International Students

Applications from international students are assessed on the basis of the applicant’s academic qualifications and proficiency in English.

Undergraduate entry is based on the satisfactory completion of the equivalent of twelve years of schooling at a comparable entry level to that applying to local Australian students. International students undertaking Australian Year 12 examinations should apply through the Tertiary Admissions Centre in the relevant state. All other applicants should apply direct to the University. Postgraduate entry is normally based on the satisfactory completion of a recognised degree or diploma of at least three years duration, comparable to an Australian degree or diploma.

Applicants who undertook study in a language other than English will be required to show proficiency in English. Normally an academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall result of 6.0 or Testing of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 550 (210 computer based score) is the minimum entry requirement to award courses. For undergraduate Nursing and Teaching and for postgraduate courses the minimum requirement is IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 575 (230 computer based score). An overall result of 7.0 is required for some graduate teacher education courses.

Support services for international students are provided through the International Education Officer and may include a two-week orientation program, airport reception, assistance with temporary accommodation arrangements, English language support during the year, and a variety of other support services.

University policy allows for yearly increases in tuition fees. Tuition fees are subject to change.
