Michael Myers Scholarships
The Michael Myers scholarships are available to assist students who are living in rural or regional
Eligibility Students undertaking theology courses at Ballarat, based on
§ academic merit based on overall performance in the course;
§ financial need;
§ service to the rural or regional Church community.
Value up to $5,000.

St Patrick’s Cathedral Choral Scholarships
Up to fourteen Choral Scholarships, funded by the Archdiocese of Melbourne and the University, are available to students enrolled at ACU National in Ballarat and Melbourne.
Eligibility Students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate music course on at least a half-time basis. Successful recipients are required to participate in the liturgical music program of St Patrick’s Cathedral,
Value $2,500 per annum (Cathedral Choir).
$1,500 per annum (Cathedral Singers).

The Australian Psychological Society Limited (APS) Prize
The Australian Psychological Society Limited will recognise excellence through the APS Prize in Psychology. One APS Prize in Psychology will be given at each institution that has independent membership of the Australian Vice-Chancellors’ Committee and has an accredited program in psychology of the Australian Psychological Society Limited of our years’ duration or an Australian Psychological Society accredited fourth year program in psychology comprising one year equivalent study, or both.
Eligibility The student who gains first place at the end of either:
§ an Australian Psychological Society Limited accredited program in psychology of four years’ duration leading to a single qualification; or
§ an Australian Psychological Society Limited accredited fourth year program in psychology comprising one year equivalent of study.
§ When two or more students gain first place based on their results for the fourth year, the Department is required to select one of these students for the APS Prize in Psychology based initially on the mark awarded for the fourth year thesis and, should this not discriminate between students, based on performance in psychology units in third year.
§ Only students who have completed all work by the end-of-year examination period and whose results have been ratified by the appropriate University Board of Examiners Meeting are eligible for consideration for the prize in that year.
Value Recipients of the APS Prize in Psychology will receive a letter from the Director of Science of the Australian Psychological Society that recognises the excellence of their achievements in studying psychology, a certificate, and an offer of 12 months free Associate Membership of the Society, with the waiving of the processing fee, if they make an application within 12 months of completing their program of study in Psychology.
Recipients of the APS Prize in Psychology will also be encouraged to present a poster on their work by having their conference registration fee paid by the Sociiety if they present a poster based on their thesis, at the Annual Conference of the Australian Psychological Society Limited, in the year following the completion of their program of study.
Membership of the Society will be funded by the Director of Science.
ACU National Foundation – Social Work Rural Placement Scholarship
Established in 2006 to provide Social Work students at

Value $550 or $1,100.
Selection will be by a committee made up of representatives from the School of Social Work (Canberra), the Rector at Canberra (or his nominee), and a representative of the University Foundation.

The Society offers prizes to students undertaking accredited accounting courses.
Eligibility The three prizes are made to students in the Bachelor of Business (Accounting) course who achieve the best academic result in the stages indicated below.

Wiley Publishing Class Prize for Accounting Students
John Wiley & Sons Australia Ltd, ACBA Tertiary Publisher of the year 2004/2005 provides interactive learning and other support material for both instructors and students in the discipline of accounting. The company has donated prizes for the most outstanding, highest performing student in selected units undertaken as part of the Professional Accredited Accounting Program:

Canon
This scholarship was established in late 2004 by Canon Australia Pty Ltd and is awarded to an eligible student undertaking the Japanese Study Program within the School of Arts & Sciences (NSW).
Eligibility Australian student studying Japanese at ACU National’s New South Wales campuses and who is a candidate for the Exchange Program or Study Tour to Japan.
Value $1,000 to supplement participation in the ACU National Exchange Program or a Study Tour organised by the School’s Japanese Studies Program.
Applications Applications should be of no more than 1200 words and should detail clear objectives as well as short and long-term goals that would arise from activities related to the scholarship. Information about current financial situation should also be included.
Applications close on 15 April each year.

Nicol Alexander Scholarship
In 2004 the Alexander family established a scholarship in memory of their daughter and sister, Nicol. Nicol died shortly after completing her BA Degree. Nicol’s love and passion for textiles and design enabled her to express some of her life’s experiences and personality through her work.
Eligibility Students enrolled in BT/BA (Technology) who express their creativity and personality through the textiles component of the BT/BA Degree. The student should also have a commitment to the community life of the University.

Centacare Prize for Social Work
Centacare, the national organisation for the welfare work of the Catholic Church, has donated this prize to encourage excellence in the study of social work.
Eligibility The prize is given to an eligible final year student who has successfully completed first year of the social work program in the Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Theology/Bachelor of Social Work degree at Strathfield.
Criteria Highest grade point average over all Level 1 units in the social work program in the Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Theology/Bachelor of Social Work degree and an excellent report for the first field work placement of the course.

Technical and Applied Science (TAS) Scholarships
Sponsored by the Catholic Education Offices of
Eligibility Open to students currently in the third year of the Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts (Technology) course. Students completing their Diploma of Education in Technology at Strathfield are also eligible to apply.
Applicants for these scholarships need to have sound academic results and practicum reports, and must demonstrate a genuine desire to make a significant contribution as a teacher in a Catholic school.
Scholarship recipients must be willing to accept a teaching position in the school within the diocese of the sponsoring organisation at the completion of their training.
Value For Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts (Technology) students the scholarship benefit is $5,000 ($2,500 for Year 3 and $2,500 for Year 4).
For Diploma of Education in Technology students the benefit is $2,500.
