Ballarat

Michael Myers Scholarships

The Michael Myers scholarships are available to assist students who are living in rural or regional Victoria and who are undertaking theology courses through ACU National, Ballarat.

Eligibility         Students undertaking theology courses at Ballarat, based on

§         academic merit based on overall performance in the course;

§         financial need;

§         service to the rural or regional Church community.

Value               up to $5,000.

Selection          by a committee, chaired by the Rector, and including the Head of, or delegate of, the School of Theology.

Ballarat and Melbourne

 

St Patrick’s Cathedral Choral Scholarships

Up to fourteen Choral Scholarships, funded by the Archdiocese of Melbourne and the University, are available to students enrolled at ACU National in Ballarat and Melbourne.

Eligibility         Students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate music course on at least a half-time basis. Successful recipients are required to participate in the liturgical music program of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Melbourne, as members of the St Patrick’s Cathedral Choir or the St Patrick’s Cathedral Singers or both.

Value               $2,500 per annum (Cathedral Choir).

                        $1,500 per annum (Cathedral Singers).

Applications     called for annually.

 

Brisbane

Archdiocese of Brisbane Theology Scholarships

The Archdiocese of Brisbane has established a fund to provide support and encouragement for postgraduate students undertaking higher degree studies in Theology at Brisbane.

Eligibility         Given to up to three postgraduate students on a competitive basis. Applications will be called for in March. Recipients must be enrolled in Theology at Brisbane and resident within the Archdiocese of Brisbane.

Value               up to $3,000 to be allocated.

Selection          by a committee.

Canberra

Laurie Daniels Memorial Scholarships

Established by the Australian Catholic University Foundation to commemorate the life of Laurie Daniels, a founding member of the University Senate, an active supporter of ACU National, and a life long advocate of Catholic education.

Eligibility         Given to up to five postgraduate students enrolled in the Master of Social Work program at Canberra.

Value               5 x $1,000 each.

Melbourne

Capicchiano Classical Organ Scholarships

These scholarships have been established by Mr Bernie Capicchiano of Bernie's Music Land and are available to up to three students each year. The scholarships will be awarded annually and on one occasion only to each successful applicant, giving a total nine scholarships during the period 2005-2007.

 

Eligibility         Students undertaking classic organ studies as part of their music course at ACU National.

Value               $1,000.

Selection         Audition and interview.
