ACHS James MacGinley Award
The Australian Catholic Historical Society, wishing to encourage serious study of Australian Catholic history, has established a History Award.
The award comprises:
· A monetary prize of $400.
· Consideration for publication of the winning entry in the ACHS Journal.
Eligibility The Society invites entries from students enrolled at Australian universities and theological colleges offering accredited degree courses.
Students may be either graduate or undergraduate.
Prescribed assignment work could well form the basis of an entry.
The topic is to be directly on, or of relevance to, some aspect of Australian Catholic history. The submitted paper should not exceed 3000 words in length. Entries should conform to current academic requirements for bibliography and endnotes (or footnotes).
Each entrant should provide two copies of the paper, double-spaced and without the writer’s name; also a cover sheet giving his/her name and address, name of university, faculty of current enrolment, and degree in which enrolled. This cover sheet should be signed by a relevant member of the academic staff endorsing the eligibility of the writer as a student of the university/college.

Pratt Foundation Bursary
The Pratt Foundation (established in 1978 by Richard and Jeanne Pratt) is one of the largest private sources of philanthropy in
Eligibility The Bursary is awarded on the basis of need and is made available to the indigenous student when enrolling in an appropriate postgraduate course at the University. The bursary is normally available for the duration of the course, subject to the student’s progress each year being judged as satisfactory by the Bursary Committee.
Value Current annual value is $2,500. In any year the Bursary Committee may decide to award a Bursary of less than this amount.
Applications should be made to the Bursary Committee on the form available from the Weemala Indigenous Unit. The form requires details of the course and units of planned study and the year(s) in which it is proposed to complete them, and an outline of circumstances for the purposes of assessing need (these details will remain confidential to the Bursary Committee).
Closing date for applications is 30 September in the year prior to the proposed year of study.

Wexford Senate Bursary
The Wexford Senate, established in 1998, is a forum of the great Irish family, ie the citizens of
